Amsterdam blog- visiting Bierfabriek restaurant
We love discovering new places in Amsterdam. Our Demi Chef Jose Dias Luis and Supervisor Malou Jugo went to experience ” De Bierfabriek” restaurant in the Center of Amsterdam. This is the article of their experience.
Since 2011 De Bierfabriek is brewing beer in the middle of the restaurant and serving grilled chicken and Burgundian dishes based on the concept idea by Andrea Possa. It is a trendsetting concept of microbrewery in a restaurant.
The beer restaurant is located in a monumental building with old and modern elements combined. The menu is simple, with the speciality of the French farm chicken that are marinated for 24 hours in olive oil and fresh herbs before being grilled over the chorcoal BBQ. For dessert you really have to try the ‘Bieramisu’ containing the winning Porter beer.
The combination of old and modern elements gives the restaurant a cosy feel. The staff members were friendly and gave extensive explanations about the menu and how the drinks are prepared. Well-known cocktails are prepared, with the twist of one of their own brewed beers in each of them. When the wrong coffee was accidentally served to us, the situation was resolved in a friendly and immediate manner.
Although we are wine lovers, it was still nice to have visited this restaurant once. If you are a beer lover, then this is definitely a restaurant to go to. It located in a popular location, being busiest on weekends. Here you can find a beer for everyone, like a blond beer called ‘Snipperdag’, a red ale called ‘Vals Alarm’ and for the IPA lover there is ‘Schafttijd’.
