Jeroen joined our team as personal trainer and is offering his support to guests and employees in their health journey. In this interview you can read about him, his background and work at our hotel.

Can you tell about yourself and your experience as a personal trainer?

I am working now fulltime as a personal trainer for 5 years, coaching both individuals and small groups. I had different professions before that, but sports had always the top priority and interest in my life. Since my childhood I’ve been always into sports, as a basketball player, kickboxing and fitness. Later I’m trained as a certified trainer in fitness and made my profession out of something I love to do.

What do you like the most about your work?

What I like the most about my work is connecting with people and helping them to achieve their goals. I’m coaching them for a healthier lifestyle, becoming not only physically but also mentally stronger.
Every person needs a different approach and motivation and when the right way is found, positive things start to happen. Seeing those transformations happening is an inspiring process for me!   

Which help can you offer to the hotel guests?

Since November I am happy to work at Crowne Plaza Amsterdam-South. Every morning from 6:30 until 8:00 from Monday to Thursday I’m present in the hotel gym and guest can ask me for any advice. I can simply show them around the gym equipment or provide an advice or guidance for cardio, strength or stretching exercises. And when the guests want an additional training at another time, they can request a session with me at the reception or contact me directly.

Besides that, I am happy to say that the gym equipment has been recently upgraded, so the guests can use everything they need, from a treadmill, rowing machine, bicycle and a cross trainer to a squat rack, free weights and stretching mats.

What is your sport/health tip to our guests and employees?

My tip to everyone who would like to feel more energetic and healthier is to be consistent with small actions every day from the list below:

  • exercise
  • sleep 7 to 8 hours a night,
  • go outside to get your daily sunlight and fresh air.
  • Eat your veggie’s,
  • moderate your alcohol and sugar intake
  • reduce your screen time (phone, laptop)
