As food enthusiasts and avid explorers of Amsterdam’s culinary scene, my Colleague Tamara and I recently had the pleasure of discovering a hidden gem nestled in the vibrant neighbourhood of De Pijp—Cabrón Amsterdam. Since its opening in 2019, this Mexican eatery has been delighting locals and visitors alike with its tantalizing array of flavourful tacos and Mexican snacks.

From the moment we stepped inside Cabrón, we were captivated by its lively and colourful ambiance. The vibrant decor, reminiscent of Mexico’s bustling streets, immediately transported us to a world of fiestas and authentic Mexican cuisine. The restaurant was abuzz with energy, and the aroma of sizzling meats and spices hung enticingly in the air, teasing our taste buds and igniting our excitement.

We relished the opportunity to delve into Cabrón’s menu, which boasted an extensive selection of mouth-watering tacos, quesadillas and Mexican snacks. Each dish was meticulously crafted, showcasing the skill and creativity of the talented culinary team. Traditional favourites like Croquetas and al pastor coexisted harmoniously with inventive creations like Baja fish tacos and vegetarian options, offering a delightful range of flavours to suit all palates.

We embarked on a culinary journey, savouring a variety of tacos that burst with vibrant and authentic Mexican flavours. The tortillas were freshly made, soft and pliable, serving as the perfect vessel for the succulent and expertly seasoned fillings. From the tender and juicy meats to the creative vegetarian options bursting with freshness, every bite was a celebration of Mexican cuisine at its finest.

To complement our meal, we indulged in refreshing margaritas that perfectly complemented the vibrant flavours of the tacos. The skilled mixologists at Cabrón expertly blended classic and inventive ingredients, resulting in perfectly balanced cocktails that enhanced our dining experience and transported us further into the heart of Mexico.

As we concluded our memorable visit to Cabrón, we couldn’t help but appreciate the dedication and passion that went into every aspect of the restaurant.
