Our General Manager Steps Up to Lead Two Properties

Sebastien came to the Netherlands during a COVID lockdown, but somewhere between the grey skies and the quiet Amsterdam streets, something clicked. “The Dutch approach to family, community, and raising independent and free-thinking children, combined with the culture and the outdoors,” he says, “it just feels like home.” 

Before joining us, Sebastien spent nearly two decades leading IHG Hotels & Resorts across Australia, Fiji, Bali, and Thailand. He brings that wealth of experience to a role that now spans two of the Netherlands’ most prominent IHG hotels. With both properties working closely together, bringing them under one leader made complete sense and Sebastien didn’t need much convincing. “The opportunity to learn a new brand, a new city, and work with a new team was something I couldn’t pass up.”

This year feels significant for both of us. Here at Crowne Plaza Amsterdam-South, we are marking our 15 anniversary, fifteen years as one of Amsterdam’s most established business hotels, five minutes from Amsterdam Zuid Station and at the heart of the Zuidas district. We are proud of what we have built here, and even prouder to be heading into the next fifteen with Sebastien leading the way. Meanwhile our colleagues at voco The Hague are celebrating their fifth anniversary, and before the end of 2026 will be opening De Grutto, a brand new meeting and events space in the heart of The Hague’s Royal Quarter.

We are excited for what comes next and we are happy that Sebastien is leading the way.
