Jordaan is welcoming you

Have you visited the historical places in the center of Amsterdam and you are still wondering what you can do in this picturesque neighborhood? Then Jordaan is a perfect option for you.  

Jordaan is most famous for its little streets, boat houses and endless canals. It is a former working-class bastion. Nowadays it is the place with beautiful historical houses, high-quality restaurants and original shops. Here you can take pictures on many bridges and see why Amsterdam is called Verneice of the North. The most famous streets of Jordaan are he Prinsengracht, the Westerstraat, Haarlemmerstraat and the ‘9 straatjes’ (nine little streets).

In Jordaan several markets can be found. Noordermarkt which is perfect for buying old-fashioned Dutch plates, pots and linen can be visited every Monday tell 13:00. For food Lindenmarkt can be visited on Saturday and the market at Westerstraat on Mondays.
There are no big famous museums in Jordaan. However, some smaller museums such as Pianola Museum with old mechanical pianos, Lady Land museum which is the first museum of Fluorescent Art. If you would like to know more about the history of Jordaan, you can visit Jordaan Museum. If you get hungry after visiting these places, you can eat in one of the cafes and restaurants of the Amsterdam center.
