Interview with Claudia, Front Office Employee

What do you like about your position?

As a Front Office agent, I am the first and the last person our guests see. I have the power to help and turn things around if someone is not happy. For instance when a guest arrives early and the room is not ready, I can check to offer another room instead. I am given the tools to make people happy and that’s really satisfying.

What do you like at Crowne Plaza
Amsterdam-South?

I know everyone in the hotel. It’s like one big family. You can really be yourself and people care about each others. The operation team, we are all really close. I meet a lot of my colleagues outside of work too.

What is your favorite travel destination?

Thanks to the Christmas lottery at work, I was able to stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in Porto. It was amazing

Any recommendation in Amsterdam?

It’s difficult – everything is so nice here. I would recommend to check for fun fairs (Kermis in Dutch). They happen regularly, for instance there is one in NDSM now for the whole week. The Light festival is coming up too, when light sculptures are added all around the city.

Why should anyone join your team?

It’s really chill here. There is no one above the others. We are just 1 team. The other day, the General Manager was here mopping the floor. You don’t see that everywhere. Everyone is really approachable. Also, you get to work with the most fun colleague: me 🙂
